The culture of creating a “back-date”—a modified 911, built to resemble an older 911, most commonly an F-Series (produced from 1965-1973)—has blown up within the last ten years. This trend has been driven by enthusiasts who appreciate the classic design of the original 911, but are also attracted to the performance improvements and features introduced in later models—or available on the after-market.

Photographed here, this 1982 Porsche 911 began life as an SC “Super Carrera” Coupe. However, thanks to the team at Rennline, it is now powered by a 1989 930 Turbo motor—which has been built to a 3.4L twin-plug setup, and mated to a famed, 5-speed “G50” manual transmission from said 930. This drivetrain adds to the uniqueness of this particular car, as the 930 Turbo was only offered with this gearbox for one year, 1989. Additional features include a bespoke exhaust system and 993 Turbo brakes, among countless other upgrades/modifications. This incredible project showcases Rennline's ability to integrate a variety of their products to achieve a specific look and performance goal.
